Langue Onze Toulouse is a French language school and official examination centre for the TCF exam, which is a French language proficiency test recognised by the Ministries of National Education, Higher Education and Research in France. This test assesses candidates’ language skills in French, both orally and in writing.

> Important information reagrding the TCF

When you register for a TCF exam, Langue Onze Toulouse will provide you with a certificate of registration as proof that you have undertaken the necessary procedures. Once the test has been corrected, France Education International will issue an official certificate with the result. Bear in mind that the correction process takes about a month because of the double-marking carried out by France Education International in Paris. This certificate of results is valid for two years. Should you fail the TCF exam, you can take it again after a minimum of 30 days between two registrations.

> TCF Tout Public <

The official French language proficiency test, TCF Tout Public, is a test of French language skills essential for starting or when pursuing higher education in France. It is also designed for anyone wishing to assess their level of French for personal or professional reasons.

The score obtained in the TCF Tout Public gives an accurate determination of the candidate’s level of proficiency in the French language. This is based on one of the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

> The TCF Tout Public exam tasks <

The TCF Tout Public exam assesses candidates’ skills in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, oral production, and written production.

The listening comprehension involves understanding conversations and recorded audio documents. The reading comprehension assesses the ability to understand different types of written texts, for example, a newspaper article or emails.

The speaking task assesses the candidate’s ability to express themselves in French through conversations (current affairs etc.). Finally, the writing part evaluates the candidate’s ability to write a text clearly and coherently in French.

The “Test de Connaissance du Français pour le Québec” is a French language proficiency exam that meets the standards set by the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusion of Quebec.. It is designed specifically for people who are filing an immigration application with a Quebec immigration office.

By providing a TCF Québec certificate, candidates can demonstrate their level of French language proficiency as part of their immigration application for Quebec.

> The TCF Quebec exam tasks <

The TCF for Quebec is comprised of 1 to 4 tasks, each evaluating French language skills in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and writing.

The test takes the form of 4 modular tasks from which candidates can choose:

  • Listening Comprehension: A test consisting of 39 multiple-choice questions which must be completed in 35 minutes.
  • Reading Comprehension: A test consisting of 39 multiple-choice questions which must be completed in 60 minutes.
  • Writing: A test consisting of 3 exercises which must be completed in 60 minutes.
  • Speaking: An individual face-to-face test with an examiner comprising of 3 exercises lasting 12 minutes.

The TCF Canada is a French language proficiency test that is in line with the standards of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada for economic immigration procedures or Canadian citizenship applications.

Individuals who are in one of the later applications must demonstrate their level of French proficiency by including a TCF Canada certificate in their application.

The TCF Canada consists of 4 tasks which assess general French language skills, including oral comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and writing.

This exam is made up of 4 compulsory tests which must be taken by all candidates.

  • Listening comprehension: Collective test: 39 multiple choice questions – 35 minutes
  • Written comprehension: Collective test: 39 multiple choice questions – 60 minutes
  • Writing: Collective test: 3 exercises – 60 minutes
